Nepal - Shelter from the Storm
The daily rains of Nepal's monsoon season will begin in just a few weeks. Many families will not have the time or the resources to rebuild their homes so they need a quick, temporary solution. Tarps have been in short supply in Nepal since the earthquake leaving many families open to the elements.
Some reports state that over 200,000 homes have been completely destroyed. Add to those numbers the thousands of families who are too fearful to stay in even slightly damaged homes. With all of the death and destruction they've witnessed, it's understandable.
Thirst No More has already established a source for tarps in India with a Pastor in a border town who delivers them to us by bus. The average cost per tarp is $15. We are working through Nepal's largest and oldest association of churches, an interdenominational group that was formed in 1960. These Pastors and leaders join with us in supplying local volunteers to get supplies beyond the roads and up steep mountain trails.
This fundraiser is for the purchase of 100 tarps. For $15, you can supply a family with temporary shelter to get through the coming monsoon season. Thank you!
