India is a complex land of religious, linguistic, and political diversity. Hinduism is not only the most prominent religion, but it is the powerful force that shapes much of Inidan culture. There is a presence of the Christian church as the Apostle Thomas is reputed to have gone to this great nation to introduce the Gospel. However, despite the ancient roots, Christianity is still a small minority among India's 1.3 billion people.
Nowhere is that minority more evident than in the north of India where, for the most part, the spread of the church is at its weakest. Punjab is one such place. It is the only state in India where Hindus are in the minority, as the majority of Punjabis are Sikhs. Hindus are a sizeable minority, however, but Christians are only about one to two percent of the population. There are 14 people groups in Punjab that are unreached with no contact with the Good News. Another 14 are just beginning to hear the Gospel.
In the midst of all of this, we will be working with local pastors to bring the message of hope to these precious people. We will travel to local communities in small teams to share The Message and provide a strong discipleship structure that will be overseen by our local Indian pastors and have an impact long after we leave.
Come join us for 11 days. Those days will be life changing for both you and the people who hear of salvation.
