Greetings,
It has been about a week since our team from LWEC has returned from Peru.
First off, Peru was awesome. The team was comprised of people from Pennsylvania, Alabama, Tennessee, Arizona, Canada, a team of nursing students from University of Alabama, and LWEC.
Local pastors of Peru, local church members, and translators also joined us as we went door to door sharing the Gospel in neighborhoods/ sharing the Gospel after providing medical care to locals.
The medical team worked in various locations that were identified as "in need" and the evangelical team remained in the area in Trujillo where they were assigned to. I was part of a team with Calvin Chung, Esther Liu along with a few local church members/pastors, and our translators. We were in Buenos Aires Norte, an area of Trujillo hit hard by a flooding that happened in March 2017.
Numbers:
We saw 1366 (based on numbering peoples' hands) in the medical/dental, eyeglass clinics; 1376 people heard the gospel; 377 made professions of faith; we found 21 persons or houses or peace and worked with 46 nationals; 119 people were trained in the 411 method of presenting the gospel and one of the commands of Christ.
This was e3's first campaign in Trujillo and it is hoped that a team will return next year to follow up, encourage and plant generational house churches. Praise God.
Please continue to pray for the people that heard the Gospel and those that committed their lives to Christ. Pray for their faith, that the enemy will have no chance to change their mind. Also pray that they may continue to fall madly in love with Jesus.
Please also pray as our team will be sharing with the congregation about our trip, that it would be encouraging, inspiring others to go on this trip. But most importantly that God would be glorified by the stories and lessons shared.
Thank you again for the continued faithful prayers, support, encouragement. Praise God for salvation being poured out into the city of Trujillo, Peru.
