Since 1961, Methodist Village Senior Living has been proud to serve as Fort Smith’s only local, faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated solely to enhancing quality of care and life for our elder population in the River Valley.   Our Life Plan Community merges active senior living and planning for the future. It is an environment that offers senior adults a lifestyle with amenities and living options based on their life needs, in a continuum of care ranging from independent to assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing care.

Methodist Village Senior Living’s mission is to provide wonderful life experiences that enable our residents and their families to lead full and enriching lives.  Our vision is to exceed the expectations of our residents and families while inspiring hearts and minds.

Our Care Center provides 24-hour nursing care in a home-like environment for long-term residents that can no longer live independently. We also provide health and rehabilitation programs for long and short-term occupational, physical and speech therapies, post-surgical and post-hospital care.

Methodist Village Senior Living’s Independent Living offers freedom of an active independent lifestyle with the security of a supportive environment. We are conveniently located near restaurants, grocery, shopping, and medical care. We offer transportation for weekly grocery shopping and our staff is available from 8am-4pm and security 12am-8pm. Our one-bedroom apartments are 596 square feet with full kitchens, and free on-site laundry facilities. Our social activities include game day, Bible study, exercise programs, and group outings.

Methodist Village Senior Living will open our Assisted Living in spring 2019. Our Assisted Living will be a level 2 community. We will provide services that directly help a resident with certain routines, activities of daily living, and assistance with medications. We will offer an array of apartment styles – studio, small one bedroom, medium one bedroom, large one bedroom, and two-bedroom. Our amenities will include a multi-treatment center (General Practitioner, Dentist, Optometrist, and Podiatrist), restaurant style dining with three wholesome and balanced meals, free laundry facilities, barber/beauty shop, Razorback game room, exercise club, chapel/theater room with large screen, grand piano, social activities, outdoor courtyards, and much more.

In 2016 Methodist Village Senior Living announced the $50 million redevelopment of our campus to become a “Life Plan Community". A Life Plan Community merges active senior living and planning for the future. It is an environment that offers senior adults a lifestyle with amenities and living options based on their life needs, in a continuum of care ranging from independent to assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing care. The new community will be constructed in phases on our existing thirty-acre beautiful location in the heart of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Phase I – A 26-residence Assisted Living Center and a 19-residence Memory Care Center (Certified Alzheimer’s Special Care Unit), with a wide range of amenities, including a chapel, gathering and social spaces, multi-use medical treatment center, restaurant-style dining options and a wellness center.

Phase II – Exterior renovations of our current Care Center, which has not been updated since 1962, and the construction of a new stand-alone, short-term rehabilitation center with a projected 30-bed capacity.

Phase III – Independent Living Cottages, featuring a variety of accommodations, opportunities and size.

Groundbreaking for Phase I of our Life Plan Community was held in November 2017 and expected to be completed in early 2019. In December of 2018 we completed a significant milestone in fundraising efforts by having raised $4.130 million, including achievement of a challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation. The total raised came from over 100 individual, corporate and foundation donors.

We are currently moving into planning and fundraising for Phase II.
