Nate and I finished our two day adoption Training last week. It was exhausting, but we learned so much. Our discussions centered around the benefits of open adoption for all parties involved (birth parents, baby, and adoptive parents) as well as navigating transracial adoption. We also purchased some children’s literature that focused on the theme of families being created out of love, not necessarily genetics. We used this literature to start involving Hollyce in the process. We are still working through that, as it’s difficult to explain adoption to a 6 year old in terms that she easily identifies with. Heck, I’m 39, and difficult for me!  There are so many moving parts, and so many variables involved in adoption, which is why we are trusting our agency, the process, and God with how this will play out.  Thank you for your continued prayers as we move through the rest of our home study.  We are getting excited about welcoming a new baby into our family!
