We are adopting a child!

We are beyond excited to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. The average adoption cost between $35-55,000. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Here is a little more information behind our why for adoption: 

Adoption holds a special place in my (Micah) heart for many reasons. In the late 80's my Father was called to a “family meeting” by my Grandmother; the woman who played a large role in my spiritual walk with God. My Father, thinking he was about to receive news of illness or death; was told he had a sister. My Father grew up the oldest of 3 boys. One biological brother and one adopted. My Grandmother at the age of 21 placed her daughter  for adoption. A decision I can only imagine was difficult but made out of love… and so the story of adoption was weaved into my family. From a young age, I felt called to adoption. Luckily I married a man who embraced it whole heartedly. You see the story of adoption is weaved into all of our lives. God gave up his one and only Son out of love (John 3:16). Jesus gave up something too. Out of love for you and I, he gave up his life (Romans 5:8), so we could be sons and daughters, heirs of the One True God (2 Corinthians 6:18). So here we are. We have actively prayed about this for two years and have heard yes but not yet. Then in the middle of a pandemic and a recession, God gives his yes and with joy and excitement we will abide! We invite you along on this journey. With transparency we hope you can share in all of our moments. If unable to help financially, we hope you will join us in prayer. Prayer for our future son or daughter and for their birth momma. But more importantly that through all of this, ultimately God is glorified!
