My name is Madison Seyfarth (but prefer just Maddi) and I live in sunny Southern California. Although I grew up in a Christian home, it wasn't until the summer that I was 15 that I fully committed my life to Christ. However, it wasn't until this past summer that I heard God calling me to missions.

One day, a few months ago, I was at my favorite coffee shop with fellow Jesus lovers and we were reading some morning devotions before school. We were focused in on the "Hall of Faith" in Hebrews 11, specifically verse 8. It was around this time where I felt frustrated because I felt God was acting passively in my life.

That's when I read Hebrews 11:8: "By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." And that's when it hit me: I was the passive one, not God! I realized how active God is in our lives even when we don't see it.

I immediately talked to my youth group leader about mission work: others needed to know about what Jesus had done for us and the amazing things God has in store for our lives!

My leader began talking about a mission trip to Nepal. He told us he would choose around 10-12 students and over the summer of 2015, he would take us to serve overseas. I was so excited as were all of my friends.

It's been almost a year since he announced the trip, and our excitement for the trip (especially mine!) has not diminished at all.

Now, begging for ANYTHING has never been something I enjoy; I believe hard work and trust in God are the right way to go about things. However, I would GREATLY appreciate a donation towards my trip!
