It was a journey for Mike and I to find each other. Our story is one of mountaintops and deep valleys. Why should becoming parents look any different? Because it is in the journey, in the story, that we find beauty. We are strong because of the hard times. And we will be strong for our future child.

I can't even express how excited (and maybe a little terrified) we are to become parents -- to provide a home to a precious child.

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign -- to be honest, we want to make sure we will have the resources for our child's education and to support our child fully, and this feels like the best way to do that. Adoptions can be pretty pricey (understatement), and our goal is to cover half our of pocket, and raise the remainder. We have set a goal of $30,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child. We are so excited to have a community of big brothers and sisters, aunties and uncles, biological and honorary grandparents.

More than anything right now, we covet your prayers. We know God will provide. He always has.
