We are beyond grateful to have so much support from family and friends for our journey to become a family through adoption. 

This fundraiser through Pure Charity can help raise the funding that we need to make our adoption a success. We have a donations goal of $10,000 that will go towards the initial costs of the adoption, and we will continue to save and hope for some grants to cover the remaining costs. While we know that not every family is called to adopt, we know that many of you value adoption and hope that you might consider supporting us as we go through this process.

Here is a breakdown of some of the costs we have already paid/ anticipate coming up in the future:

Adoption Fees

Pre-Application Fee $50

Application Fee $150

Homestudy/ Postplacement fee at beginning of homestudy  $1,300 

Homestudy/ Postplacement fee at due at end of homestudy  $1,300 

Pre-placement fee $750

$18,000 will be due upon placement. This is broken down into these categories:

Agency Administration $5,000

US Domestic Initial Program Fee $1,000

Foster Care/ Shepherding Care ~$1,000

Counseling for birth parents ~$8,000

Medical, hospital ~$4,000-$8,000

Birth Parent Retreat Program $500

Legal Fees $3,000

Agency Fee total: $21,550

Additionally, we will have these fees:

Legal Fees $3,000 (for us to hire a lawyer for finalization)

Travel Expenses $2,000 (We may be staying out of state for 1-2 weeks while things get sorted out for us to be able to travel with the baby back to MN)

Shutterfly Profile Books 7 x ~$25 = ~$175

Background Checks  $26,800
