Total Funding Needed:

Your $40 donation contracts one of our cooperative members to create a handmade recycled t-shirt quilt from materials provided by Mercy Covers for an orphan or trafficking survivor. When the quilt is completed, the co-operative member receives payment for her work, as well as a start up kit, supplies and training in producing beaded rosaries and jewelry items which can be sold in our online shop as well as locally.
This is the first step of five in putting the woman on her way to full-fledged micro-enterprise by providing skills training, materials, work space, education and discipleship and a marketplace for her handiwork.
With an ever-increasing cost of living and little work opportunity outside the home for women in this rural area of Costa Rica, this income and skills training offer her an opportunity to better her own life as well as that of her children and other family members, as well as experiencing the joy of spreading love to another.
In addition, the cooperative will invite women living in the Cabecar indigneous reserve, the region of Costa Rica with the highest poverty rate, to take part in the work of the cooperative by using their cultural beading skills to decorate the bags in which our products will be delivered.
Mercy Covers creates a circle of giving, opportunity and relationship that can easily impact the lives of hundreds with your help!
