Welcome to our adoption story! Our adventure wouldn't be complete without you! Since the beginning of "us," we knew adoption was in our future. We have seen God's love for the orphan and the world's need for loving homes; thus, our Father, who has ADOPTED us into His kingdom, has placed this call on our lives to open our hearts and home. This journey hasn't been without upsets as we walked through our failed adoption of two little sisters from Ethiopia after Ethiopia placed an adoption ban in April 2017. This was completely devastating for our family and we have all grieved (and continue to do so) the loss of those girls joining our family. Yet, we know God is not done with our adoption story! As we enter our 5th year of the international adoption process, we are excited to announce we are adopting from Colombia! We've started this program with All God's Children International agency and are working towards adopting a sibling group. Our next steps are updating our home study, completing (another!) dossier and waiting for our referral. To say that this is without fear would be a lie. As we closely learned in the past 4 years, adoption is not a guarantee, no matter how much earthly resources and time are poured into it. However, we're stepping out in faith in a whole new way this time to ask for your partnership (possibly again)! Adoption brings so much joy, but it is also messy. There's the wait, the cost, the adjustments. An average adoption costs around $35,000/child and we spent around $40,000 of our resources + some donations towards our Ethiopian adoption. BUT, we serve a God who can and will move mountains to connect children to their forever families. Our biggest support comes from the prayers you give- thank you!
