Many of you have so kindly and generously asked how you can be part of our adoption.  We cannot do this alone, and we greatly appreciate your support.   First, we would love a group of family and friends dedicated to praying for us through this journey. We would also ask you to specifically pray for Alek and that he is well cared for and safe until we can get to him.

Second, we are fund-raising to help provide for the financial cost of the adoption.  Sarah took on a second job with a company called VIP Kid and Kyle has also been taking extra work opportunities.  Also, we have worked diligently to trim our household expenses.  However, our efforts will not completely cover the $35,000 we will need. These costs include our home study (where the state approves us to adopt), agency fees, attorney costs, government paperwork, background checks, and for the care of our son while he is in-country. We also have to travel to Bulgaria two times—once to meet him and sign our adoption papers and once to bring him home. We are hoping to begin a couple of fundraisers later this summer.  

This process is certainly a marathon not a sprint, so while we know the big picture of our need, we are taking this one baby step at a time.  Right now, we need to come up with $5,995 by the middle of August.  Those funds will be used to pay our Bulgarian agency (ISKRA) the $3,000 we owe them for the initial fee and for the $2,950 it is going to cost us to complete the home study.  We will be working diligently to do everything we can to make this happen, but we cannot do it alone.  If you feel led to contribute, this is a wonderful place to do so, as all donations are tax deductible and will go directly towards our adoption expenses.
