Two weeks ago, Corey and I had our first meeting with the person at our adoption agency who will be conducting the home study and eventually will be matching us with a birth mom -- YAY! Of course she was wonderful and the meeting ended up being a 2 hour interview discussing our lives. We were asked about our families, friends, routine, religious beliefs, parenting style, and much much more.
Tomorrow is the first of two at home visits were she will asses the safety of our house and do another round of interview questions. Considering we are already raising a 2 year old, you would think that this would be no sweat, but guys -- I am sooo nervous. Logically, I know there is nothing to worry about. Our house is baby proofed and we live in a safe beautiful neighborhood. Emotionally though, the nerves are gut wrenching.
Being engineers, both Corey and I like to solve problems and get the right answer, but through the adoption process we have been asked so many questions that have no 'right' answer. If I can't get the answer right, then I must be wrong... Silly.
Anyway, tomorrow we will laugh about my nerves, but for today please send along all your baby fairy dust.
