We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child from Colombia!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to more than $35,000. This is why we have set a goal of this amount to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.

We are sure that there are many questions. We plan to be as transparent as possible throughout this process and we welcome your questions at anytime. Adoption has been something we have thought about throughout our lives together, but the time has never seemed more right than it does now. Griffin is super excited to lose the "lonely only" title and welcome a sibling into our family. We never intended for him to be an only child, but sometimes God has different plans for growing families. We feel strongly that His plan for growing our family is through adoption.

Why Colombia?  Yes, we realize there is a great need for foster/adoptive parents right here in our own state, however (after much consideration), that is not the best option for our family at this time. When researching countries, adoption requirements and such - Colombia was the obvious answer. We feel that bringing a child from a Spanish speaking country to the area we currently live in will make the transition a little easier for the child. We have many Spanish speaking friends that we hope will support us, teach us and help us love this child and he/she grows in our family.
