Since I can remember, I've always wanted to be a MOM! Even as a little girl, I would help my grandmother with her in-home daycare and sometimes even begged to stay home from school to help. Through high school, I would babysit every chance I could. And as an adult, I spoiled my friends' kids as if they were my own! While I never had the opportunity to have biological children, I now know why...
Over the years, adoption has always been something I thought about and wanted to explore. My heart breaks for the millions of children that are in foster care or orphanages. Can you even imagine not having someone to call "Mom" and/or "Dad" or even a place to call home? Imagine praying everyday for a family? Do you know what that feels like? ....I bet most of us don't.
As you know, life has it's twists and turns and finally this year, God has shown his plan to me. I started exploring adoption again this past January and found a hosting program. My original path was to host and adopt from Mexico but the program was delayed until winter. (Apparently this wasn't the path He had planned.) In June, I unexpectedly got the opportunity to meet a 6 year from Kyrgyzstan and knew pretty quickly she was meant to be mine when she started calling me 'Mama' within the first 24 hours. (She also has a 7 year old sister who has been unable to travel to the US due to a missing birth certificate.) Currently, I am on the fast track to adopt them both!
While adoption is expensive and it's certainly not for everyone, you can still be a part and help Change the Story for these 2 beautiful girls. I've started a fundraiser on Pure Charity to raise the funding that I need to make the adoption a success. All donations are tax deductible and will go toward the costs associated with traveling to Kyrgyzstan (flights, hotels, fees, etc.) Every donation is important and will not only help my dream come true but will more importantly help me bring them home! Would you kindly consider making a donation? Also, I would appreciate your willingness to share this with others who may want to participate.
Thank you so much for being a part of our lives and helping accomplish something that's important to me and the girls! Being a single mom will not be easy but I have an amazing support system and know these 2 girls will be so loved and cherished by everyone they meet....I promise they will melt your heart! <3
