My name is Heather Young. I am currently a freshman in college. I have been blessed with several different opportunities to go to Tanzania, Africa throughout my life. I was fourteen years old when I went on my first trip. This summer I have the opportunity  to go back to Tanzania, Africa ! I will be leaving on May 26th and returning home June 22nd I will be going back into a special needs/ albino orphanage in Shinyanga. I cannot wait to help meet their needs and share God’s love with them. However, I feel like God is calling me to do more this summer! I will also be joining the teams going to the islands of Maisome and Kome. Our team will be led by e3 Partners Ministry. Together, we will take the Good News of the Gospel to the unreached people groups of Tanzania!

 

Our team will partner with national churches and believers to target unreached areas with the Gospel.  Each day I will team up with several national believers, including a translator, and go home to home sharing Christ with those we meet.  The nationals we work with are committed to following-up with the people who make professions of faith throughout the week - and are further dedicated to establishing new churches in these areas.

 

I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with me on this e3 Expedition.  I believe God is calling me to go, however, this can only happen if others help send me.  As it says in Romans 10:13-15:

 

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of who they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can they preach unless they are SENT?
As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

.We, as Americans, often take for granted our knowledge of the Bible and the gospel. The major difference that is hard for many to understand is these children do not know who God is nor do they understand why a man loved them so much that he would die for them. It is our job to show them the love of Jesus and tell them all about him and what he is doing in my life. The most rewarding part of any trip is watching each child grow in the Lord.

 

I have been called to full time missions.. As I was praying and asking God what his plan for my life was, I found myself scared and unwilling to surrender all areas of my life to him.. I knew I was suppose to be in full time mission; However, I was worried about leaving my home here and my family and friends... then God gave me this,"Perhaps we don't want to come face to face with the unsurrendered areas of our lives. We like our lives just as they are, even if it is less than God's best." As I sat in awe of God and how he truly knows exactly what I need I found out God's calling for my life. I would be lying if I told you it was easy and that I know exactly what I am doing now... because I have no idea! all I know is that God told me to surrender and I did!
