The Artisan Incubator Program through Haiti Design Collective exists to support the development of independent, artisan-based entrepreneurs. We believe there is a different story about Haiti that needs to be shared- one of artistry, craftsmanship, and quality handmade goods. We know lasting impact starts from the ground up- and that is why in 2019 our Artisan Incubator Program will be sending two of our most promising leather artisans to Florence, Italy for an immersive, educational experience in Master Artisan Leatherwork.  

The artisans will be a part of a 3 month course to learn both traditional and modern leather working techniques from the masters. Upon returning to Haiti, as a part of The Artisan Incubator Program, these leaders will continue on in our entrepreneur training in order to launch their very own businesses. We know this is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity that will affect their families and communities for generations to come.

But we need your help! It takes a village, and any little bit you give goes a long way. Our workshop motto is "Men Anpil, Chay Pa Lou", a Haitian proverb meaning "Many Hands Make The Load Light". We know this to be true, and are asking you to join hands with us to make the dream of these leather artisans a reality. 

All donations will go towards the tuition and necessary tools for the artisans while in the program. And when you contribute at least $50 to the campaign, we will send you a leather card holder, bracelet, and a personal note of thanks from the artisans.
