We are so excited as we near completion of the transitional housing project here in Siloam Springs! We would like for you to be a part of this project. Our need is to raise $20,000 - including the 1st $10,000 that is being matched dollar-for-dollar! With your help, we can accomplish this quickly.
That's why we started this fundraiser on Pure Charity. Your tax deductible donation goes to provide a comfortable living space, in 1 of 5 Tiny Homes, for a homeless family as they transition from homelessness to self-sustainability. Currently, there are an estimated 160 homeless children just in the Siloam Springs School District.
The Family Jump Start Program is a partnership between Genesis House, a local homeless day shelter, and East Kenwood Baptist Church. The Tiny Homes provide emergency shelter for up to 5 families every 90 days. During the 90 days, families obtain employment, attend financial training, and complete the tailored program with guidance from their professional case manager.
The program has over a 92% success rate with homeless families becoming self-sustainable on their 91st day in their own apartment/home. These Tiny Homes help us reduce the cost per family by 25% and expand the program from 12 families per year to 20. That’s 200 homeless families every 10 years exiting homelessness in NWA!
100% of all donations go directly to the completion of the Tiny Homes. Everyone who donates will have their name entered in a drawing to win 1 of 5 first nights in a tiny house. Donations of $200 or more will have the opportunity to engrave their family or business name on a brick in the Tiny House Community.
We are asking everyone to donate, but even if you are not able to donate, please give the opportunity to someone else by promoting this fundraiser on Facebook, Twitter and in your other social circles.
Thanks for taking a moment to read this and thank you for giving!
