NWA BALLET THEATRE: Ensuring Accessibility to Professional Dance
"There are infinite possibilities for dance in Northwest Arkansas."
Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye, NWA Ballet Theatre Artistic Director
Undoubtedly, Northwest Arkansas is home to a thriving arts scene with new venues, festivals, and projects announced daily that reflect the diversity of our growing population. While there is widespread support for this cultural expansion, there remains a disproportionate gap in the art form of dance. NWA Ballet Theatre is committed to filling this gap by making dance programming available to all Northwest Arkansas residents.
Dance Beat and
Once Upon A Dance, are an ongoing cooperative collaboration with local cities, libraries, and arts organizations offering
free and
audience accessible dance performances:
Dance Beat is a public art project that
takes dance out of the traditional theatre setting and into Northwest Arkansas’ countless scenic outdoor and urban spaces with pop-up art performances.
Once Upon a Dance presents a unique opportunity to start children on a dance journey, introducing, enriching, and cultivating their experience with dance as an art form.
To date, these unique programs have enlarged the arts experience for over 11,000 Northwest Arkansas adults and children and your donation will help ensure that they continue!
