Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protects over 800,000 undocumented young people who entered the U.S. as children. DACA recipients are protected from deportation and DACA allows for young people to apply for ARKids Health coverage, a driver’s license, receive in-state tuition, pursue a job in nursing, and advance parole to travel for work, study, or for humanitarian reasons. DACA recipients are able to contribute greatly to our community as well to their own families.
Arkansas Immigrant Defense provides DACA services free to minors and at an affordable rate for people over 18. In 2020, we helped 30 clients receive DACA status, allowing them to receive benefits to create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
The 2020 Supreme Court ruling overturned the Trump administration's attempt to end the DACA program. Because of this, we have excitedly welcomed dozens of hopeful DACA applicants. We need your support to help us continue offering DACA recipients’ lower application and renewal fees, especially our free legal services for minors.
Your neighbors need you! Your donation today will help us grant this much needed service and protection to immigrant children and young people in Arkansas. Thank you!
