We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child from Hungary! After many tests and lots of blood work, the doctors' final determination is that Suzanne is unable to carry a child; however, everyone agrees she would be a really awesome mom. Ian is a proud father to 2 beautiful and wonderful daughters and Suzanne loves being their bonus mom, and we are really looking forward to adding another child to our family. After lots of prayer and reflection we really have a heart for adoption and can't wait to meet our child. 

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $10,000 or more to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. It truly takes a village, and we are thrilled that you are part of our village!

These are the approximate costs we are currently expecting:

Adoption Agency Fee: $14,550

• This fee is used to assist families in navigating the adoption process. The agency will act as a liaison between families and U.S. and in-country government officials. This fee includes, but is not limited to: agency operational costs, communication, print materials, staff training and involvement, overseas travel, maintaining a relationship with overseas Central Authorities, monitoring overseas foreign providers and ensuring that the agency is in compliance with all Hague standards.

Third Party Fees: $17,864

• This fee includes document preparation during the home study process and the preparation of your dossier. This include: Immigration Application, finger prints, passports, adoption education, medicals, document authentication, Immigration updates, child’s medical exam, child’s visa, gifts to foster family, and translation.

Travel Expenses: $11,900

• This includes accommodations, guide service, transportation, international flights and meals. We will be spending 6 weeks in Hungary to complete the adoption.
