Hello friends and family!
I am so excited to announce that through much prayer and consideration I have decided to take a break from my studies and dedicate a year of my life to be a student missionary. I have been approved by the Walla Walla University Student Missions Program to serve as an Assistant Women’s Dean at Vejlefjordskolen in Denmark. I am very excited to see how God uses me in this next year. I know my year will be full of growth, challenges, connections and many memories.
I have always been interested in serving as a student missionary and have been inspired by God’s call for us to love one another. I want to be a witness through love and actions. I have chosen this position as dean because I am passionate about mentorship and connecting with people. I will be working with students from early high school age to early college age. My job description includes looking after students, leading out in worships and sports programs, and mentoring students. I am very excited about the opportunity to grow as a leader and mentor by following God’s call to ministry.
As I prepare for my mission year I am trusting that God will provide the funding that I need. There are several costs associated with this experience: travel costs, visa costs, mailing costs, living costs while I’m out, and the list goes on. Each year, the student missionaries are required to raise the money needed. We do that by working in the community for donations, asking for donations from mission supporters, working with our local churches for help, and by earning as much as we can in addition to the money given. The funds are used to get us to our location, to make sure we’re cared for while we’re there, and then to bring us home. A portion of the fundraised money ($500) goes toward training and support offered through the SM office. Any excess funds I raise help other SMs to go, provide emergency aid, as well as help support SMs in the field.
I appreciate anything you’re willing to give whether it be money or prayers. Thank you so much for your support, this year won’t be possible without it. I am excited to see what God can accomplish through this year of service.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support!
