The Chanje Movement
has been actively operating in Haiti since the earthquake in January
2010. My church, Crossline Community Church, after the earthquake started to go on trips to serve this country by feeding the hungry, rebuilding homes, discipling and educating youth, sharing the Gospel, resourcing leaders, and rescuing youths off the streets of Port-au-Prince.
What I will be doing is serving at the Chanje orphanage. This orphanage takes in youth who have been abandoned by their parents or are homeless. I would be helping feed them, sharing the Gospel, and whatever else is needed by the orphanage. Most importantly, we will pour our love on them and show them that God loves them above all.
I have felt that God has called me to serve in Haiti. This is an experience that will not only help to change the lives of the Haitians, but also mine. I want to be able to make a difference in other people’s lives and be able to share how great our God is. I could not be more excited to have this opportunity of seeing how God will work through others and I.
