I know you have heard this before, but 2020 has had its ups and downs. One thing we have been relearning this year is how to manage our sense of control. Throughout our family story, God has reminded us He is in control. We know this to be true, but as His children we must be reminded to trust in Him and know He will deliver on His promises as He always has.
This adoption has followed the same trajectory as with Daniel, albeit at a much slower pace. The pandemic set back our home study quite a bit and Julie got a new job this school year (praise) but we are grateful for our agency and social worker who have helped us complete these steps.
Our home study is on its way to Korea! This means all our necessary paperwork to receive a referral (matching) is complete and the process is progressing forward.
During the next 30-90 days we should receive a referral matching us to our child. This is an exciting time as we will get to see that beautiful little face for the first time and learn his/her story.
We ask that during this season you pray for that child and his/her foster family as we all find out what the future holds. Thank you for walking alongside us in this journey, though progress has been slow, we know who is in control and we praise His timing and providence as we wait to see who He has waiting for us.
