Years before we were married, we made the decision that we would one day adopt internationally. Last summer, we began our adventure to bring home a little boy or girl from Seoul, South Korea, who we are very excited to meet! We are so grateful to have finished the home study process and to begin this new and exciting stage of our adoption story. Just recently, we were approved for 1-2 children between 0-3 years in age of either gender. 

Korea's program is unique in that $37,000 of the overall $39,000 cost of adoption is due at the referral of the child rather than the placement. We have raised $27,000 so far and are only $10,000 away from our goal which means we need your help! Our vision for adoption is rooted in Ephesians 1. We long to adopt because God first adopted us. Verses 4-5 say that before the creation of the world, God chose us in all of our filth, rebellion, and sin, knowing that we would break His heart time and time again, and yet he chose us to be adopted eternally into his family even though it required the death of his only begotten and perfect son. Matt and I are constantly floored by the fact that God called us and chose us as His own, and our response is a deep and profound desire to show a child that same grace by saying, “Whether you break my heart or reject me, I choose you and I will always love you because God first chose us.” This cannot be accomplished through our own strength alone, but we have faith in God’s promise that His graces are new every day. We know he will equip us for His good work through the adoption and throughout the child’s life by His grace and for His glory alone.
