The missionarylingI remember watching with my nieces and nephew, when they were just little, a cartoon called
The Reluctant Dragon. In it a dragon didn't want to be (known as) a dragon, because of the "dragon stigma". He also didn't care to do the things dragons normally do. I can identify, sort of.
I've said I'm not a missionary, and yet this will be my fifth trip. I won't call myself the reluctant missionary, since it's not the stigma that causes me to deflect the term missionary. It's simply not seeing myself as worthy to be called a missionary. When I think of a missionary, I think of people moving overseas, likely taking family along, and turning their lives upside down. That's not me - that's not what I've done. So I suppose the closest accurate word is "missionaryling".
I'm not sure there is much new to say at this point, regarding what we're doing and why we're going. You've likely heard it all before. Once again, we both feel God calling us to go; and once again, we purposefully waited for God to speak to each of us individually.

• Prayer – as often as you think of us. For this trip,
Rachel and I have a page for people to volunteer to pray for each of us on a day by day basis. One thing I have learned is the value in having people back home pray for us while we are "out in the field".
We will fill this page out in more detail as we go.
• Financially – as always, we need support to be able to go.
• Others – feel free to ask me any questions you might want to know or find out (if I don’t know, I can plan to get an answer when in Ethiopia)

On this e3 Expedition, we will be spreading the love of Jesus through community development. We will minister in partnership with believers in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. This region is an exceptionally challenging area due to significant local opposition to the Truth. We will connect with families as we speak out against human trafficking and child slavery. We will use the Priceless Cube as a tool to educate the people about human trafficking.
