BIG NEWS! I am thrilled to announce that this summer I will have the opportunity to travel to Uganda, and experience  a full time internship with The African SOUP.

The African SOUP is an educational organization dedicated to advancing active learning in Uganda. Their Active Learning Project, in which I will be collaborating, is a national teaching initiative designed to engage learners, develop community, and inspire leaders across Uganda. With this Project, the Soup looks to invest in not only the lives of students, but the entire community as well. 

It has been a dream of mine for a long time to work with rural schools in Africa to help reform the education system and learn all I can about innovative ways to engage students living in vulnerable situations. 

I am deeply inspired by the SOUP's philosophy to offer a "hand up not a hand out", empowering students and community members to be the leaders that shape the future of Uganda and through this achieving long term improvements to their communities.

I started this fundraiser to raise the funding that I need for the mission. Your donations will go towards the goal of $1700 that will help to sustain me while I serve for the summer.

Please note that all funds raised will go directly to The African SOUP to offset the costs of my living expenses on campus. Any funds raised over the targeted goal of $1,500 will be considered a donation to The African SOUP and will be utilized where the needs are the greatest.
