Daniel and David had been orphaned at age 11. They had been taking care of one another most
of their life. Daniel had some scares
with his health while he was young and as David said last year, “I didn’t want
to lose Daniel when he was sick. If I
lose him, I lose my life. I have to save
him. I still feel that way.” And as Daniel shared, “David was my only
family left. Nothing will separate
us. We have to support each other.”
Daniel shared his dreams saying, “I want to be a chaplain
and an advocate for children and children’s rights. I want to help orphans like me. I want to create a place where they feel
safe.”
One year, David would work and raise money to send Daniel to
school and then next year, Daniel would work and raise money to send David to
school.
On August 29th, Daniel (about to turn 25) was at
Malawi Theological College studying to be a Pastor when he passed in his sleep
due to a seizure.
We are raising funds to help cover unsettled funeral costs
as well as creating a Daniel Murembu Memorial Scholarship to help send David to
college while creating a fund to help send other orphans to college in the
future while honoring Daniel’s life and legacy.
