We have BIG news!

Liv and I have finally been matched with two precious kiddos in Haiti! Brother and sister, ages 7 and 3. While we are not at liberty to give out too many specifics of the children at this point, you will see lots and lots of pictures as soon as we return from our trip to meet them, next week.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome these beautiful children into their new forever home. In this phase of the adoption, we have decided to reopen a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise some of you to hear, it definitely surprised me, that adoption related costs can easily total $45,000 or more. In our case, since we were matched with siblings, that number is actually much much higher. Think $55,000 to $60,000!!! Some of those expenses have been paid already, many of them thanks to so many of you!  

In order to bring our kiddos home, we are still facing about $50,000 in legal fees and immigration proceedings. This number seems astronomical, but I honestly can't think of any other way I'd want to invest our money than in the permanent life change of these two kiddos.

But rather than look at that big behemoth of a number and think, well, those aren't my kids, or, I can't really contribute enough to make a dent, I'd like to approach this campaign from a different angle. Because, I really do believe that what you contribute will quite literally transform the lives of these two kids, and in so doing, create a ripple effect.

And it's with that ripple effect in mind, that we are extending this campaign. I'm asking that if this story, or our journey touches your heart in any way, that you would consider donating $1. That's right, just $1. BUT, more importantly, I'm asking that you additionally send this link or share our story directly with 10 other people that you think would want to donate $1 to change, at the very least, 2 very beautiful lives. I think there are enough people within our circles, and within the circles of those circles, and within the circles of those circles of those circles, you get the picture, that we can exponentially reach 50,000 people for $50,000. And we are counting on you to take a moment to consider who those people in your lives might be, and to share our story with them.
