Josh and I attended 8 hours of class this past week to prepare ourselves to be (adoptive) parents once again. It may seem a bit funny that we'd need to go through "class" after parenting our daughter for nearly two years, but the class time was extremely beneficial. It was neat meeting other adoptive families, we (re)learned LOTS about the domestic adoption process and updates to Indiana laws, etc., and at the end of the day it was exciting to take one more step forward in our second adoption. Hearing from previous adoptive families and birth mothers brought hope, excitement and peace to both of us. We are so excited to grow our family through adoption!!!

We've scheduled our home study (social worker home visit) for this month! It's so exciting to see everything come together so fast this time around. What took months our first go around has only taken a month...Phew! 

Appt. openings, papers completed, letters submitted...we're truckin' along and should be turning in our whole bio/profile this next week. The next apt. is our homestudy, then a final exit interview at ASC and we "go live". For those that don't know, "going live" is when your bio/profile is shown to potential birth mothers (who have similar criteria as you do) and you could be potentially "matched" with a birth mother (they verbally agree/choose you to parent their child; not legally binding).

A quick rundown on financials:
- We've received just shy of $800 in gifts via PureCharity and we're thankful for each of those gifts!
- We just paid an invoice for over $8,300 for fees, paperwork, background checks, classes, etc. from the Adoption Support Center (ASC) this past week at our class.
- We're due to pay another $4k this next month for marketing/advertising and also birth mother fees, so we need to raise $3,200 very soon for this next bill!!!!
