About a year and a half ago we began to discuss options for adoption. We decided that the best option for our family this time was to adopt through a private agency instead of foster care.  This was a decision that I really struggled with initially.  I was nervous about a relationship with the birth mom and what that would look like.  How involved would she want to be?  What would she be like? Would it be awkward? On and on my questions and fear went... and then we got our placement!

From the moment I met Sarah I was in awe of what God was doing. Ryan and I have also been a couple that discuss things in private before we make any decisions, especially big ones! When we were talking to Sarah the first time we started to answer questions and talk (both of us) as if everything was decided.  I don't know how much you know about adoptions - but usually in these type of situations the birth mom picks you and then you meet.  After the meeting you decide if it is a good fit or not.  But, Ryan and I didn't need time - we knew it was a perfect fit.  I had been so nervous about a relationship with birth mom, but after meeting her I was so excited about her being apart of our lives. God took something that I was so unsure about and made it into a huge blessing!
