Hello,
In the last year I have felt the call to a spiritual pilgrimage known as the Camino de Santiago de Compostella. This translates to "the way of St. James under the stars" and has been a pilgrimage for Christians for more than 1,000 years. I will be walking from Portugal to Spain, ending at the tomb of the apostle James, located at the Cathedral of Santiago in Spain, a total of 270 km, over a period of two weeks.
As I've been planning this trip, my close relationship with Africa New Life Ministries has influenced me to use it as a means to bless others. There are countless children in Rwanda that still go without daily food. They struggle through education and daily life in a constant state of malnourishment and African New Life Ministries is there for them every day. But they can't do it alone. These are children I deeply care about, as I am a sponsor of several, so I want to use my camino to raise awareness of this great need.
That's why I've started this fundraiser on Pure Charity. My goal is to raise $5,000 dollars in the next few months, from now until May 13, 2018. I will be leaving for this pilgrimage on May 19, 2018, providing all contributors as much time as possible to help before I begin. None of this money will go to fund my camino. In fact, 83 cents of every dollar will go toward African New LIfe Ministries' Food Is campaign, providing meals for each child in their care. Raising $5,000 could effectively feed these children for more than a year.
Please partner with me in changing the world for the life of one child. Help me give them the best opportunity for success, so that the next generation in Rwanda will not have to struggle.
Thank you for helping me make a difference!
