Travel planned...ALMOST! I felt like I should go ahead & choose that status b/c things are happening so quickly right now that by the time most folks see this, that could be the case. :)
Thank you for everyone that's been holding our Immigration/travel paperwork in prayer - yesterday, on World Adoption Day, we found out that Mathias' immigration packet was APPROVED!
So what does that mean? Immigration sends approval codes to another agency, which I will call on Tuesday (b/c Federal offices are closed on Monday) to find out what those codes are. Then I'll plug them into a form on the Department of Homeland Security's website for one final approval. It's usually a 24-hour turn-around for that form, I've been told.
Theoretically that means we could be hopping on a plane NEXT weekend! Maybe not quite that fast, but give/take a day or two, it seems that we'll be going to get Mathias VERY SOON - praise the Lord!!!
***Also - another praise report: Mathias was on supplemental oxygen via nasal cannula after his hospital stay...as of Sunday (Nov. 4), the cannula was removed b/c he doesn't need it anymore!!!***
Our remaining expenses are:
- about $5K for lawyer fees while in Colombia
- about $4K for housing/food/taxi/incidentals while there for 3 weeks
- about $1,500 for flights
Thanks to some incredible people's generosity, we've already raised about $3,300 of that! Gifts of all sizes have come in, and have really touched our hearts...starting at $15 on up.
Thank you for that. We do have some personal savings that we will use as well, but if you'd like to help push us towards the finish line, it is a truly appreciated gift.
