Our family is growing!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. We are adopting a baby girl, from either NC or SC, and have been officially approved by our agency as a “waiting family”. This means that birth mamas are now able to view our family profile book and able to consider us as an option for their babies. This baby girl has long been a desire of ours- we have known her name since Bonne was 17 and have together talked about her and our longing to adopt since before we even got married. We are immensely thankful that the Lord has paved the way for now to be the season for adoption and are loving getting to anticipate this new family member with our three kiddos alongside us. The waiting could be for a very short time or it could be for up to 18 months (in North Carolina a home study is good for 18 months before needing to be updated). Will you pray for us- that we would wait well and rest in the sovereignty of the Lord? Will you pray for our baby girl’s birth mom? We don’t yet know her story but we are committed to a lifetime of championing her, encouraging her however we can and loving her with the Gospel. We believe she is making a courageous choice in choosing adoption and cannot fathom the heartbreak that comes alongside making this decision. We believe the Lord is bringing beauty from ashes and making all things new, busy redeeming things in ways our minds can’t comprehend- and He is doing that even now.

For our adoption we are working with Christian Adoption Services. The total cost for the adoption will be around $34,000. The money will cover the entire adoption process, legal fees, and a  lifetime of access to counseling and care for the birth mom, an annual birth mom retreat and a whole list of other expenses associated with adoption. As we have long known that adoption would be a part of our family’s story, we have been saving for quite a while. We are thankful for Kyle’s job and the ability to pick up extra shifts to help fund our adoption. Should you choose to come alongside us financially, know how immensely grateful we are!
