A Crazy Good Month Posted about ago

A little over one month ago, I went on a week long trip to Washington, D.C. Now, I had never been to Washington, D.C., but I had heard all about it from people who have, seen pictures and places in D.C. in movies and the news, read about it in school, etc. While in there, I had the privilege to tour the capitol with Congressman Steve Womack, tour the White House, visit the Arlington Cemetery and several other monuments and museums. We also attended church at one of our local church plants in D.C., Redeemer City Church. In the pledge of allegiance, we say, “One nation, under God,” for a reason and this trip helped me to better understand the origin of that. Going on this trip also helped me to learn how I can be praying for our nation and it’s leaders.

Last week, I was invited to attend a class at UAMS Northwest on grant writing. Due to my passion for children, the needy, and hunger, this class was very beneficial for me and the path that God is leading me on.

Over the past month, I have been able to be a part of many things that we do to help those in need throughout our community and get a “behind the scenes” look at what goes into making these incredible ministries happen. Some of those ministries include the Compassion Center, Feed The 479, Radical, Impact, and Blessing Baskets. This past weekend was our 25th annual Blessing Baskets ministry at Cross Church where we serve groceries for Thanksgiving meals to those in need. Not only do we serve them physical food, but we also hold a service prior to handing the Blessing Baskets out where they will be fed spiritually, too. This year, we saw 374 people trust Jesus as Lord and Savior and were able to help 2079 families. Praise God! He is moving and lives are being changed and I am so blessed to be able to be a small part of it what God is doing.

With that being said, I have also changed my ministry track as of a month and a half ago from Women’s/Millennial Ministry to Missions. Long story short: when God called me into ministry, it was for missions. The closer the beginning of School of Ministry got, the more I began to think about what I wanted to do and what I thought was best. Not what God wanted me to do and was best. So I decided to try Women’s/Millennial Ministry. I did really enjoy and love what I did and who I was with, but God didn’t call me there. He called me to missions and I knew it. So now I am at the Compassion Center and in the missions department. Sometimes God lets things like that happen so that we may learn to trust Him more and not doubt that He will work all things out for the good of those who love him and for HIS GLORY (Romans 8:28) and to lean on Him more and not on ourselves.

Thank you so much for reading this and I pray that you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
