Our students in Cadenette were unable to attend school on Thursday and Friday due to protesting across Haiti. The safety of our students and staff are very important to us so we closed the school for those days. There are two main complaints causing the protest. First the with the Haitian gourde dropping in value weekly, the cost of food and other daily needs are rising at a very rapid pace. This greatly increases the daily struggles to survive for the poorest in Haiti. Second, we continue to have fuel shortages. When tap taps and buses can't find fuel for their vehicles to operate they must park. This affects not only their income but the many Haitians that rely on the public transportation to get to work miss out on income as well. Please join us in prayer for Haiti, for the above mentioned struggles to end. Peace to return to the streets. That our students will be able to return to the classrooms to continue their education, and most importantly that the Light of Christ will pierce the darkness of Haiti.
