Hello Cadenette Village Sponsors,

I hope you and your families are all doing well and that you are enjoying the presence of Jesus in your life.

I want to give an update on Cadenette, the village where the child you sponsor lives. As I’m sure you know, the people of Haiti continue to live in desperate times. You may have seen the news reports of how gangs have overtaken the majority of the country. This includes schools, banks, police headquarters, hospitals, businesses, and even the airport. Just last month the gangs over-ran the National Prison and released more than 4,000 hardened criminals back onto the streets. The Haitian people are living through some of the worst crime, violence, hunger and desperation the country has ever faced. Sadly, this violent activity has moved from the big cities out into the country side where our partnering schools and villages are located.

Cadenette Village has been hit especially hard by the violence and chaos.  They have had a difficult time keeping the school open on a regular basis, as gangs have showed up on site and threathened the leaders and children.  Yet through all the chaos and threats, the leaders, and teachers open the school at every calm opportunity to allow the children to come learn and have a hot meal.  We've had a bit of calm for the last month or so and the children are again walking up the mountain to school.

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti and the families in the village of Cadenette.

• Pray that the Lord would protect the people there; that they would be able to travel safely; find work; and buy food and other necessities.
• Pray that the Lord would intervene and bring stability to the country.
•  Pray that even through the struggles they are facing, that their faith would remain strong and their hearts would be fully committed to Jesus.
• Pray for the leaders of the community, church and school. Pray that the gospel would be preached with power and love.
