Adoption has always been a topic of conversation since before we were married. As many of you know, Brandon and I are Christians, and because of this, we feel called to care for children through both foster care (which we are currently doing) and adoption. We believe that God loves us and adopted us into his family, and we are to show that same love to children who need a family. Not only that, but since both of us have worked in the field of social work, it developed a common passion for us to always help vulnerable families and children in some way. We knew that adoption and foster care were going to be a part of our journey as a family. We have had the blessing and pleasure of doing foster care these last two years, getting to love and care for children that God has brought into our home temporarily. We planned to have biological children as well, which after a few years of trying and making health changes, we realized that this may not be a part of our journey. Since we started fostering, it confirmed in us that we were made to be parents. Though it has been a hard road accompanied by loss and grief, getting to love our kiddos has been the biggest blessing we have ever had.  

Having had the experiences of children coming and going, parenting is not something that we take for granted. We see it as a treasure, a gift, and an incredible responsibility, a responsibility that we have to children who need a family. We see the joy, the fun, and everything in-between that comes with parenting as a huge bonus. Now more than ever, we are excited to be a forever family to a child needing one, and feel humble to serve a mother and father who are struggling and making a very difficult yet selfless decision for their little one.
