You read that right, we are adopting from Korea!!! Since the beginning of our marriage, we have felt God’s call to adopt internationally. We believe this is one of the greatest expressions of God’s love – that those without a family of their own can be grafted into the family of God because of the love of Jesus Christ. That’s exactly what we want to display in our own family!

We began the Korea adoption process this past October. While we have little control over the entire schedule, we are anticipating bringing home our newly adopted Korean child potentially within the next 12 months.

Through the ins and outs so far of an oftentimes long and complicated process, we have seen God’s faithfulness and providence time and time again.

We believe it’s vitally important that we bring along our friends, family, and community on this journey as we bring our newest family member home over the next year.

During this process, there are many ways that you can be involved alongside us, and we would love your help and support! There are three primary needs that we have as we journey towards Korea adoption:

PRAY! We would love your prayer support as we call on God’s faithfulness and wisdom through each step of the process – from paperwork, to travel, and everything in between. We will continue to update you on our journey through this blog, and will post more prayer updates soon.

GIVE! The adoption process is an enormous financial investment. We believe the Lord will supply all of our needs to complete this task to which he has called our family. We are seeking to raise approximately $40,000 over the course of this next year. The magnitude of this cost is a reminder that we need God’s help through God’s people – we know we cannot do this alone! We are also grateful for our home church, Refuge Irving, agreeing to oversee all funds with an independent financial team.

SHARE! Our desire is for the story of the love of God to be displayed through our adoption journey. When you think of this story, we want you to share His story with others – our prayer is that this is not about us, but about the glory of God among the nations! Furthermore, we desire for this to raise awareness of orphan care here and around the world. As followers of Jesus, we believe every orphan deserves a loving home!
