Baka Family Adoption
by Cathy Baka 1 Lives Impacted Poland
We are the Baka Family, a military family currently stationed overseas in Poland since August 2016. We've always viewed each new assignment in the...
We were incredibly blessed this week to receive approval from the Catholic Adoption Center (The approval authority in Poland for international adoptions). This was a major step towards completing our adoption and we are both grateful and relieved. We have been officially matched and are processing our I800 documents (US Immigration paperwork). Once our I800 is complete, our entire packet will head back to Poland for approval from the Ministry.
We still have 3-4 months before we can "travel" to meet the boys. Yes, boys! We have been completely blessed to be matched with a precious set of brothers. They are 3 & 7 years old and have been living in an orphanage for 3 years.
While we had initially intended to adopt only 1 child, God had bigger and better plans for us. These boys couldn't be a better fit for our family. They are absolutely precious children! While they have had good care in the orphanage, we know they cannot truly reach their potential outside of a loving, stable home. We are humbled to be chosen to be their family.
Our agency is amazing and doesn't charge us additional fees for adopting siblings. We will however incur many more personal expenses as we prepare to bring not 1, but 2 children into our home. Your support financially, as well as through prayer is greatly appreciated.
