About this Fundraiser

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

Thank you all for your support and prayers through this journey.

About eight years ago we decided to start having children. We were immediately burdened with pain and confusion as to why nothing was happening; which grew into a long season of loss, depression, and isolation. Not only were we dealing with the infertility, it also hadn’t been that long since losing my father, and then we ended up losing seven close friends and family members in those eight years; even our two beloved dogs. The downward spiral of fertility treatments was not only unsuccessful, but toxic on my body and expensive. Not to mention, we were told we would have to choose a fetus to abort in the event the treatment caused a triplet pregnancy. We would drive back to town from those fertility appointments feeling at a complete loss. Meanwhile everyone around us were getting pregnant with little to no effort at all. Bitterness and jealousy are feelings we had never experienced until this hurtful season. It felt like God had forgotten us, and a child for us seemed hopeless.

…Until…

About three years ago, God opened the door and our hearts to adoption. Our church worship leaders informed us about a Christian-based agency who they adopted their two children through. We stayed on a waiting list until the beginning of last year; when things really started moving. We attended a training, had our home study, and completed a bunch of paperwork throughout last year. And then eventually, last fall we were able to put together an album introducing ourselves to birthmothers through the agency. We received a phone call from the agency in January of this year stating there was a really sweet birthmother who really enjoyed our album and wanted to meet us! Her and her mother invited us and agency staff into their home for a meet and greet that same week. Come to find out the birthmother is adopted herself! So with her positive life experience and a toxic relationship with her boyfriend, she chose the ultimate selfless option of life and adoption. After some questions and discussion she informed us that day she wanted us to be the parents of her precious gift! It was literally a match made in Heaven. They put together a gender reveal surprise for us where we found out we were having a boy. Having already picked out some names, we looked at each other and said we would name him Jacob.

Since that special day we get frequent updates on how our baby is doing and we attend ultrasound appointments. So far it’s been a pretty open relationship, and will probably continue to be once he’s in our care. We still have much to learn and grow through adoption, but we are excited and honored to be chosen for this extraordinary and challenging journey of parenthood. Because of adoption, and many prayers, we went from childless to having a son on the way!  God had a purpose for the pain all along. Growing us and shaping us for the preparation for this baby boy that he had planned for us this whole time. We have learned that God is always faithful and always has a plan in His will, not ours. And looking back, even in the hard season; there were still many blessings from Him and things to be thankful for.

I hope this testimony encourages and inspires someone today.
