Dear friends and family,
I am very eager to share my excitement that I have been given the opportunity to serve in Uganda for 3 three weeks providing Speech Therapy. My hope is to help increase awareness of communication disorders, advocate for those who are being marginalized, provide therapy services to children and adults, and train parents and caregivers to implement therapy for their children. I have hope that Christ will broaden my eyes to a developing country and provide for all my needs spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Any funding will cover the costs of housing, flight, and food!
Hope Speaks is a wonderful ministry to help children with disabilities in Kampala, Uganda. 1 in 7 children are living with a disability. Their main ministry is providing Speech Therapy to hundreds of these children. They teach them to swallow, chew, understand and express language, and so much more. Many of the volunteers are Speech Language Pathology grad students, as well as Speech Therapy professionals. This will help them reach many more children with these services.
Hope Speaks has gone beyond that and also includes hosting other groups who help with projects, food for families, children's day camps, and going and serving in the slums.
How can you help? Thanks for asking!
1. Prayer. Please. Pray for the time I have there to be used to glorify God and do His will. Prayers for the people I meet, that they will have open hearts. Prayers for continued growth and trust in the Lord that he truly is with me and goes before me.
2. Financial support. Along with spiritual support, I pray that you will consider joining me on this mission by giving financially.
3. Share! Please share my link so others can join me in prayer or financially
In any way that you walk alongside me in this journey, I want to again say THANK YOU! Thank you so much for being a part of my life and helping me accomplish something that is so important to my heart! God bless y’all!
