Angelica and I are home! Praise the Lord! Our flight to Frankfurt, Germany went well even with the turbulence from the snow. Angelica and I slept most of the 3 hour flight so Angelica never felt sick. Thank the Lord! When we landed we took our time getting to security, stopping to eat some snacks beforehand. The layover in Germany went fairly quickly until the end when we had to wait an extra hour before boarding the plane. After waiting only about 20 minutes Angelica was ready to go since she saw a plane arrive. She did not realize it was not our plane until I explained that we had to wait another 3 hours. She decided to sleep laying down on the chairs to pass the time. She slept while I worked on reading through and starting post adoption paperwork. When we got the announcement that our gate had changed I woke her up and we walked 16 gates further, stopping at the bathroom along the way. Boarding was scheduled to start in less than 30 minutes at that point but there was no plane yet. Another announcement was made stating that the plane was delayed so they would board about 15 minutes late. Those 15 minutes turned into over an hour. Once boarding started, the line was super long. The flight was completely booked so we were thankful when we saw where our seats were. We we were in the 2nd to last row from the end of the large plane on the right side with only two seats! That was just perfect because Angelica wanted a window seat and I wanted space for just the two of us without being squished with others in the same row. We finally left Germany over an hour late. The flight was over 10 hours long. We enjoyed sleeping, watching movies, playing IPad, and eating the food served. Angelica enjoyed listening to Kidz Bop while she drew or rested. She did well again on the flight. At dinner she said she could not eat any more because she felt sick but other than that she felt well. We landed in Denver at 4:45 p.m., over an hour later than scheduled. We immediately went through immigration. Since Internet had not worked at the airport in Germany, I was unable to let Jason know we would be late so he had to wait about an hour for us. I am glad we had decided that he not bring the children to the airport. I thought the waiting would be very hard for them and hard on daddy so recommended they stay with grandma. Thankfully there were no problems going through immigration. Everything went smoothly and faster than anticipated. We left the airport about 6:00 p.m. to drive home. We got home about 7:30 p.m., took showers, and went over for a late dinner at Grandma's house. The children were waiting in a cute line at the front door and immediately each gave her a hug. Everyone was all smiles! We went to eat at the table where the children had made a beautiful "Welcome Home" poster for us. The children had helped Grandma make a delicious dinner. Angelica and I had a hard time staying awake at dinner so we all came home and went to bed. In Ukraine it was time to be waking up the next day and we were just going to bed! It is so wonderful to finally be home as a complete family! Please pray for all of us as we make adjustments to our new family life. Continue to pray for complete healing for Angelica's cold. Thank the Lord that she did not cough at all yesterday on the plane! Another boy in a row behind us was sure coughing so I kept praying for protection from germs. We pray for lots of sleep for Angelica and then a fun, special first day all together!
