Before our meeting with the Ministry of Social Policy our translator asked us what we would do if our girl's file was not ready or if we found out she was not available for adoption. We had no answer for her. She then showed us a picture of another girl she called "plan B". We were still speechless yet fully trusting God to direct our path. We had His peace that passes all understanding.
Once at the Ministry we waited and when we were called in and verified by our passports, our massive folder was opened. There on the top was our girl's picture! Recognizing her face was our sunshine in the dreariness of the day! Our translator asked if we could get a referral today so we could travel to the region but was told we had to wait until tomorrow. Our translator will call tomorrow to find out when our referral will be ready for pick up.
Because of the weekend we will wait to take the overnight train on Sunday. We will arrive Monday morning after a 12 hour train ride to the region. Then we will get to visit our girl at her orphanage and start the paperwork that needs to happen there.
We celebrated having a positive meeting with the Ministry by going to lunch at "Pusata Hata" where we enjoyed traditional Ukrainian cuisine. God even provided a local Ukrainian who was speaking English to another young woman who was visiting. She was explaining the food choices so we asked to listen in. Who knows what we would have eaten without her help:)
Please be praying that God is preparing our sweet girl to accept us and say "yes" to being adopted by our family. Continue praying for our children back home and for Grandma as they all miss us and we miss them. Thanks for your prayers!
