Aldridge Update July 15, 2016 Posted about ago

Our host daughter arrived July 1st!  We soon discovered that she was experiencing terrible tooth pain and we saw several decaying teeth. We took her to a dentist which was a terrifying experience for her. She finally allowed the dentist to look in her mouth while I was holding her and he said he saw infection and at least 4 baby teeth that needed to be pulled. He gave her an antibiotic and recommended that she see a pediatric dentist who could sedate her for the procedure. After two full days of calling around we found an oral surgeon who was willing to see her, sedate her, and pull the teeth in one appointment. On Monday we drove to the cities (which took about 4 hours each way) and she had a total of 5 teeth pulled, one of which was abscessed. Thanks to many prayers, God kept her calm and they were able to do X-rays and prepare her for the procedure without her getting upset. She was very brave and the oral surgeon and nurses were fabulous. God answered another prayer of having her emergency insurance pay a small portion of the over $2,000 bill and the oral surgeon covered the rest! We cannot tell you what a huge blessing that was to our family. We knew this needed to be done for her health and God truly provided!

On our way back we experienced car trouble but God got us safely back. We found a reputable and reasonable repair shop near where we are staying. We got our van back today. We are praising Him for getting us safely home and for His provision of excellent care for our host daughter and financially providing for the procedure. We will continue to praise Him for His many blessings no matter what happens, even when we experience unexpected problems.

All documents have been sent to Ukraine and additional ones were requested which we overnighted to our adoption agency on Monday. FBI and immigration authentication finally arrived before July 4th and were sent over to Ukraine after the holiday.

We would ask for continued prayer as we all adjust to having our host daughter. Please pray for God to give us each patience, understanding, and love. May God direct our path and provide what we need in His timing!

"Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love." Psalm 103:1-8
