Women in Africa face an entirely different set of barriers to the sport:

• Cultural norms and biases
• Lack of funding (there is little for men's teams, they get all the hand me downs!)
• Lack of racing
• Sexism and possible sexual abuse and exploitation

The only opportunity these women have is to race for a Pan African women's team (what we are desperately trying to launch) or race on European teams. However, with European teams, they often are not paid or cared for so need financial assistance and mentors to stay in that arena. Your gift will go directly to helping these young women achieve their dreams and become role models for all the young girls looking to do the same in their respective countries.
