Deferred Hope Posted about ago

There are moments in life, where anticipation is disappointed, when hope is deffered.  And unfortunately Friday ended up being that kind of day.

And though I wish I could explain to you all that happend Friday.  Suffice it to say that a series of unlikely events on our end and tragedies on the side of the biological led us to a place where we were facing the judge alone without a lawyer and this is only half of it.  Friday was a tough day.

I have got to say, sitting in court without a lawyer was truly a terrifying thing and by all estimations of the situation the judge could have postponed our case months later!  But he didn’t.  He was a gracious man and he allowed us all to postpone the case until next Friday.

Where does this leave us?  Well, because of all that happend (much of which I can’t tell you) things are even more uncertain and complex, but by the same token because our lawyer was unable to come to court and because of the postponement we have a week to work with the social worker, the lawyer and the family to deal with some new challenges.

Defered hope is never fun and it can crush your spirit if you let it.  But one thing I am learning during this journey of obedience with Jesus is this: Not trusting Jesus is exhausting.  It is not worth it.  I am too tired to not trust God.

And so that is exactly what Jen and I are doing as best as we can.  In the midst of uncertainty, disappointment, and confusion with faith we cast our cares on Him knowing he cares for us and this precious child.

Tommorow 10:30 AM EST Jen and I will be having a couple very important meetings that directly impact the direction of the hearing on Friday.  Please pray for wisdom and positive outcomes for all involved.
