Provide clean water to primary school kids in northern ghana!

The Water Crisis in Northern Ghana is quite extreme.  It is very challenging in this area to drill for water - so most villages obtain their water from dugouts.  The dugouts will fill during the rainy season, the larger the dugout, the longer the water supply will last.   Dugouts are their main source of water, but this water is contaminated.  Animals and humans share these water sources for their daily use.  WATERisLIFE is working to provide personal water filters and hygiene education training and materials to schools - in their language Dagbani - in the Tolon and the Kumbungu Districts of Northern Ghana. WATERisLIFE is in partnership with the Northern Ghana Tolon and Kumbungu District Assembly Government to provide a long-term water source to over 290 villages in this area.

Providing filters to these children will change everything.  The WiL water filters kill up to 99.999% bacteria that cause diarrhea, dysentary, cholera and typhoid.  Keeping children healthy and in school will help transform their lives - and their community.

Gburimani Primary School is located approx 35 km from the main city of Northern Ghana - Tamale.  The village is south of the main unpaved road - and is in a very rural area.  The families live in huts - which are in circular communities.  Please watch the video attached for a glimpse into the daily life of those that live in Gburimani.

WATERisLIFE water filters will provide clean water to these 246 Primary School Students for a year - and will truly save, and transform lives.
