About this trip

Loft House Outreach to Mexico

Hands of Mercy has been partnering with pastors in the greater Ensenada area for more than a decade. We come alongside their efforts to build loft homes for families in need to help hurting people and accelerate the work or the local church in those communities.

The Global Mission has led teams from Crossline Community Church since 2006 and together we have built more than a dozen (of the hundreds) of loft houses that have been established outside Ensenada.

Participants unfamiliar with Mexico should be aware that people are warm and welcoming but that we are visiting as guests, and we are there to serve the local leaders.  The access to bathrooms and clean water can be limited at times and overnight accommodations are rustic.  Pack gear appropriate for camping (sleeping bags, limited electricity, etc.) and expect to work hard in hot, sunny weather with limited hygiene.

All participants are required to caravan in a single group, departing together at 10am on Friday, May 18 from Crossline Church and will be free to return late evening on Saturday, May 19.  The cost of registration is a deposit for your spot and also includes a contribution towards your driver's tolls, fuel & auto insurance (required by Mexico) but you will also need cash for meals on the drive back and forth.  Once car pools are established, drivers will receive a per diem to reimburse them for fuel, tolls and insurance.  It may or may not fully cover those costs depending on the value of the vehicle and its mpg.

The full cost of the loft house project is $5000.  To help fund of the outreach project, click here.
