Your donation to Africa New Life’s food program doesn’t just provide a one-time meal for the children...it helps support their organic gardens which provide fresh vegetables everyday! Pictures from my visit to Kageyo yesterday are on my Facebook page: pic 1 - greenhouse for tomatoes, pic 2 - keyhole garden, pic 3 - rows of planted greens & mango trees, & pic 4 - some of the primary school children lining up for lunch.
Everything is strategically planted so they can avoid the use of pesticides (i.e., planting onions next to kale) or they use crushed red peppers w/ water to spray when needed, compost cages, etc., a second greenhouse is needed in Kageyo so one can provide food while the other one is being replanted, & seeds from the plants are shared with the families so they can grow their own gardens to provide food outside of school.
